Law Firm Instagram FollowingIncrease Your Law Firm’s Instagram Following

Instagram has grown into a serious social media platform and one that’s important to the business world as well as for personal use. If your law firm is on Instagram, it’s important to gain more followers. With over 200 million active monthly members, there are plenty of prospective clients or recruits on Instagram that you can reach. Here are 10 ways to increase your law firm’s Instagram following.

1. Be consistent

Incorporate your branding and other elements that match your website. Keep imagery consistent with what followers are used to seeing.

2. Apply what you know of your target market

Focus on the niche that your firm serves. Target content to that audience, and keep demographics in mind when you make posts.

3. Promote your hashtags outside of Instagram

The basics of Instagram suggest creating recognizable hashtags for your firm. That’s a great first step, but how can you be sure people know to use them? Include hashtags in things like your printed collateral and email signatures.

4. Participate in trending conversations

Research which topics are popular and find a way to integrate your firm’s posts. Use a mix of your custom hashtags and ones that demand a bigger following on Instagram. For example, you could use #tbt to post a funny old photo of one of your attorneys, or #photooftheday to share a picture that relates a bit of your firm culture.

5. Optimize your bio url

Just like with most digital platforms, you can leverage SEO to have more success being found. Your Instagram bio is prime real estate on your profile. Use the clickable link to drive traffic to your site or other relevant landing pages.

6. Use your captions for storytelling

Create compelling copy to go with the photos you share, and followers are likely to be more engaged (and share). Social platforms provide an opportunity to interact with your target audience and help them to see you as real, trusted people. Make sure your copy reflects a personal tone.

7. Focus on influencer marketing

One of the easiest first steps when it comes to influencer marketing is to identify and follow the right people. Your research should lead to a list of influencers in the industry. View the profiles of each and “Turn On Post Notifications” to be notified every time they share new content. From there you can begin to interact with them.

8. Remove unwanted tagged photos of you

If you’d like to curate a better Instagram presence, you can choose “Edit Tags,” selecting the photos you want to remove and choosing “Hide from Profile” (you may need to confirm).

9. Focus on local

You can see what’s happening in a particular location (for example, the area where you practice), by going to the search page and choosing the Places tab. Type in the place you want to look at and then see anything that is geotagged. From there you can participate in discussions about local events and engage in discussions about things happening in your area.

10. Enlist a professional

Sometimes no matter how creative you are or how many Instagram strategies you’ve developed, you just don’t have the bandwidth to execute on all your great ideas. That doesn’t mean a bigger Instagram following isn’t worth pursuing. Consider partnering with an agency who can help you get your message to more people and generate new opportunities.
